2014 Furman University's Study Abroad Program in China
Prof. Kate Kaup leads Furman University’s study abroad group to China under our arrangement during June 28 – July 5. The goal of this academic program is to show students’ China’s diversity---both in terms of economic development levels, rural-urban differences, and difference geographical regions.

Take a coach to Shanghai from Suzhou University in the morning. Visit Shanghai Museum - one of the best museums in China, the Bund – the must see place in Shanghai, Yu Garden – which is considered one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region. In the evening, watch the awesome acrobatic show

Visit the Urban Planning Museum in the morning and fly to Xian in the afternoon

Visit the City Wall - the most complete architecture & well preserved of ancient city walls, and learn Chinese martial art – Taichi. Then, visit the Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum to see the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses. Enjoy the Tang Dynasty style dance show in the evening.

Tour two villages near Xian to see semiarid farming and farmer families to learn local rural life.

Visit the Grand Mosque as well as surrounding Muslim street in the morning. Take a high-speed train to Beijing from Xian in the afternoon. Watch the Beijing Opera in the evening.

Tour the Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City in the morning. Have a briefing visit the US Embassy in Beijing. Enjoy the imperial food in the Fangshan Restaurant in Beihai Park.

Today’s highlight is the Great Wall. Enjoy the astounding views of the Wall as it winds over the surrounding hills. Then, visit the Olympic Green. Taste Beijing Duck in the final banquet
